MEET BRIANNA

Brianna McKinney, FNLP, NBC-HWC, is a former marketing and PR entrepreneur turned double board-certified Functional Nutrition & Lifestyle Practitioner and National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach. As the founder of McKinney Executive Health, she helps successful entrepreneurs, executives, and practitioners amplify what’s possible once anxiety and chronic conditions are no longer quietly draining energy from growth.

Before becoming a clinician, Brianna built and sold a nationally recognized marketing and PR agency—Bloom Communications, the first B Corp Certified marketing agency headquartered in Texas. She knows firsthand what it means to perform at a high level while managing the relentless pace of entrepreneurship and leadership. Like many of her clients, she once believed her anxiety and chronic symptoms were simply part of success.

That belief changed when she began applying the principles of functional medicine in her own life. After years of living with anxiety, panic attacks, fatigue, and chronic inflammatory symptoms, Brianna discovered that true performance doesn’t come from pushing through discomfort—it comes from restoring the systems that sustain it.

One of the most pivotal shifts came when she stopped drinking alcohol—a decision that profoundly improved her sleep, focus, and emotional steadiness. What she’d once seen as a harmless way to unwind or connect professionally turned out to be one of her major drivers of inflammation and anxiety.

When she resolved the root causes of her health challenges, her focus sharpened, her energy expanded, and her business grew—not because she worked harder, but because her body finally supported the level at which she was meant to operate.

That experience reshaped her life and career. What began as a personal search for answers evolved into a calling to help other high achievers experience what’s possible when health and ambition work together.

Over the next six years, Brianna immersed herself in the study of functional medicine , lifestyle medicine, and preventative health while still leading her agency. She later returned to formal education, completing nearly three years of advanced study to earn board-certified credentials and deepen her clinical expertise. She received her Functional Nutrition education under Andrea Nakayama, founder of the Functional Nutrition Alliance, and additional studies with many of the field’s most respected leaders, including Dr. Robin Berzin, Dr. Mark Hyman, Kelly LeVeque, Dr. Frank Lipman, Dr. Uma Naidoo, Dr. Sara Gottfried, Dr. Vincent Pedre, Dr. Taz Bhatia, Dr. Robert Rountree, Dr. Amy Shah, Dr. Joel Kahn, and Dr. Steven Gundry.

She also credits faculty members Dayna Yvonne Jondal, Darshi Shah, and Emily Marquis—three health and wellness coaches known for advancing ethical standards and credentialing in the profession.

Brianna’s philosophy is grounded in both science and self-healing. She believes the body is inherently designed to repair and restore when given the right conditions. Her passion for hydration, water quality, and cellular health led her to study the power of molecular hydrogen water, becoming a certified consultant through the Molecular Hydrogen Institute. This certification reflects her commitment to scientific integrity, evidence-based education, and the advancement of hydrogen research—a field she integrates into her practice to support cellular energy, longevity, and overall vitality.

Her passion for naturopathy led her to study in person with Australian educator Barbara O’Neill and Oklahoma-based Jacqueline Bourne. She encourages discernment when engaging with online content attributed to O’Neill, whose likeness and materials are often misused to sell products or ideas she does not endorse.

Brianna holds board certifications as a Functional Nutrition & Lifestyle Practitioner (FNLP) through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, and as a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) through the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching, in collaboration with the National Board of Medical Examiners. She also holds a certification in Food as Medicine - Nutrition for Prevention & Longevity from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and earned her BA in Sociology from The University of Texas at Austin, magna cum laude.

Beyond her clinical practice, Brianna has served her community in leadership roles for over 20 years. She currently serves as President of Ballet Austin Guild and Immediate Past President and Secretary of the Board of Directors for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Central Texas. Brianna has been an honoree for many leadership awards including: the Austin Business Journal’s Best CEO, Women in Business, and Central Texas Women of Influence; Austin Under 40’s Mentor of the Year; and Girl Scouts of Central Texas Women of Distinction.

At McKinney Executive Health, Brianna integrates systems-based, science-driven functional nutrition and lifestyle medicine with real-world executive experience. Her work goes beyond lab results or one-size-fits-all protocols—it’s about resolving the root causes of imbalance, optimizing the foundations of focus, stamina, and resilience, and helping clients build the physiological capacity for continued growth.

Brianna believes calm isn’t the opposite of ambition—it’s the foundation of it. Her mission is to help high performers unlock their next level of success by aligning health with the drive that built their careers.
