Frequently Asked Questions

  • Absolutely. While I specialize in working with entrepreneurs, executives, and practitioners because that reflects my own experience and understanding of their lifestyle, pressures, and ambitions, my approach is designed for anyone who’s motivated to take ownership of their health. If you’re ready to understand your body, identify what’s driving your symptoms, and make sustainable changes with expert guidance, you’re in the right place. My methods are adaptable to anyone who values a personalized, strategic approach to health and performance.

  • My most successful clients share a few key traits: they’re motivated, curious, and ready to take ownership of their health. They understand that progress comes from consistent effort, not quick fixes. They’re open to learning, willing to experiment, and receptive to feedback—even when it means changing long-held habits or beliefs.

They show up, do the work, and stay engaged in the process. In return, they gain clarity, confidence, and lasting improvements in energy, focus, and overall well-being. If you’re motivated to learn about your body and committed to meaningful change, you’ll thrive in this partnership.

  • I’m based in Austin, Texas and serve clients via telehealth across all 50 United States and Canada.

  • All initial strategy sessions are conducted via video conference so we can meet each other face-to-face. All other sessions are conducted via telephone. We are a telehealth practice to provide convenient care access, and therefore do not conduct any sessions in person.

  • During the first year, we’ll meet either once per month for 60 minutes or twice per month for 30 minutes each, depending on your preference and needs. This cadence allows for steady progress, accountability, and ongoing adjustment as your body responds and evolves.

After that initial year, most clients move into a maintenance phase with quarterly check-ins to ensure continued alignment, troubleshoot new challenges, and keep you supported as your health goals evolve.

  • No. My work focuses on root-cause, preventive, and restorative health—not urgent or emergency care. If you’re experiencing new or worsening symptoms that need immediate medical attention, you should contact your primary care provider or visit an urgent care or emergency facility. Once the acute issue has been addressed, we can integrate what’s learned into your long-term health strategy.

  • I don’t replace your primary care physician—but many clients choose to begin their health journey with me as the quarterback of their care team. I take a proactive, root-cause approach to uncover what’s driving symptoms and help you implement strategies that restore balance and build long-term resilience.

When diagnostic testing, prescriptions, or specialized evaluations are needed, I refer clients to trusted physicians and specialists within my network. With your permission, I also communicate and collaborate directly with your doctors to ensure your care remains cohesive and well-coordinated.

  • Absolutely. I regularly suggest that my clients delegate logistics to an executive or personal assistant. I’m happy to work directly with your assistant to coordinate scheduling, paperwork, and other administrative details so you can stay focused on your priorities. All health-related discussions and decisions will still take place directly between us to maintain confidentiality and ensure your care remains personal and effective.

  • Yes. Collaboration is one of my core values. I’m happy to coordinate with your physician, therapist, trainer, or other healthcare providers to ensure we’re all moving in the same direction. Integrating perspectives creates the best outcomes and keeps your plan cohesive and efficient.

  • It depends on your starting point, your consistency, and your willingness to do the work—and to pivot when things don’t shift as expected. Most committed clients begin to notice subtle improvements within the first 4–6 weeks and a 50% reduction in symptoms within 6 months, but meaningful, lasting change takes time. Healing isn’t linear; there will be both wins and setbacks along the way. Symptoms and chronic conditions don’t develop overnight, and they don’t resolve overnight either.

I’m deeply committed to my clients and approach each case like a health detective—curious, thorough, and unwilling to give up. I typically work with clients intensively for at least 12 months to rebuild the foundation for long-term health. After that, many transition into a maintenance rhythm, with check-ins every 3 months to sustain progress and continue refining their plan. My goal isn’t to offer a quick fix, but to guide you through a process that restores energy, balance, and confidence in your body’s ability to heal.

  • Not always. I will request a copy of any lab work completed within the last 12 months. I also often suggest that you create a lab tracker to capture historical lab result trends, empowering you to be an active participant in your health journey.

Many clients start with me before running any labs. I believe in addressing foundational health first—optimizing nourishment, reducing internal stressors, improving digestion, and supporting resilience—before turning to advanced testing. Often, that alone brings major improvements and helps ensure any future labs tell a clearer story. When testing is appropriate, I’ll guide you through the best options based on your goals and budget, and I can often collaborate with your physician to reduce costs.

  • Yes—but thoughtfully. Supplements can be powerful tools when used strategically, not as replacements for good nutrition or lifestyle. I focus on quality, clinical-grade products that address your specific needs rather than generic stacks. Every recommendation has a clear purpose and a defined timeline for re-evaluation.

  • That’s actually quite common. Many of my clients come to me after feeling overwhelmed by too many supplements or lab results without clear direction. My approach is different—I start by simplifying, focusing on what your body is communicating, and building from the ground up. Together, we create a plan that’s sustainable, strategic, and rooted in real-world application.

  • McKinney Executive Health is not an in-network provider with any insurance carrier. This allows me to provide you with access to the best nutrition and lifestyle care without being limited to what is covered by health insurance policies. Like most functional medicine practices, my services are an out-of-pocket expense. I do also accept FSA and HSA cards. Some of the lab work I recommend may be covered by insurance, and specialized functional lab work is not covered, but may potentially be paid using FSA and HSA cards.

  • I accept major credit cards and Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards upon booking a session.

Please note that while my payment system is enabled to process HSA and FSA cards, acceptance is ultimately determined by your card issuer. Just like with any credit card transaction, they may approve or decline payments at their discretion.

You don’t need to do anything differently when you receive a session invoice—simply enter your HSA or FSA card as you would any other form of payment.

  • I don’t offer payment plans at this time. However, you’re welcome to use an HSA or FSA card if your account allows it, and I’m always transparent about costs so you can plan accordingly.
